Vancleave offensive lineman Dalton Toothman commits to Mississippi State
VANCLEAVE, Miss. (WLOX) - The sound of cowbells filled the Vancleave High School gym Monday evening as offensive lineman Dalton Toothman committed to take his talents to Mississippi State.
Toothman, who stands at 6′5″ and weighs 295 pounds, is rated as a three-star recruit, a top 20 recruit in Mississippi, and a top 50 offensive tackle nationwide, according to 247Sports.
“They just checked all my boxes,” Toothman said when asked why he chose the Bulldogs. “Coach Lebby and Coach Phil [Loadholt] are great people, and they made it easy for me to choose.”
Toothman chose Mississippi State over schools such as Ole Miss, Auburn and Clemson.
He is the 23rd recruit to commit in the Bulldogs’ 2026 class, and the fourth offensive lineman in the class, joining another Gulf Coast high school product, Ocean Springs’ Jayden Ross.
“I believe 100% that they are going to get it rolling, and I want to be a part of that,” Toothman said.
