Cody Heaster is a native of D'Iberville, Mississippi, and grew up watching WLOX.
Before joining the WLOX team in October 2023, Cody attended and graduated from D'Iberville High School in 2018. He would go on to spend the next two years at the MGCCC Jefferson Davis Campus before graduating and moving to Starkville to attend Mississippi State University, where he studied broadcast journalism. He would eventually move back home to the Coast, finishing up his academic career at the USM Gulf Park Campus with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Cody began his career as a Digital Content Producer at WLOX before eventually making the transition to reporter in August 2025. As a reporter, Cody is devoted to shining a light on people in South Mississippi and diving deep into the sports landscape.
When he's not out reporting, Cody is probably spending time with his loved ones, gaming or enjoying a good beer at any brewery in South Mississippi.
