Just off Highway 603 in Kiln, flooding remains a serious concern as the Jourdan River keeps rising, pushing water into homes and keeping nearby roads at risk.
Tropical Storm Arthur formed in the Gulf today, and it will make landfall tonight near the Texas/Louisiana border. However, the moisture and rain will be on the east side. Widespread heavy rain is possible in Southeast Louisiana or South Mississippi overnight Wednesday and throughout the day on Thursday.
Once again, it’s hot and humid! We won’t cool down too much tonight. Temperatures will only drop into the mid 70s by early Thursday morning. It’ll stay hot and humid on Thursday and Friday with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. The heat index will be around 95-105 through the end of the week.
It’s nice that the humidity is lower today! However, gusts of 25-35 MPH will be possible, and this could lead to coastal flooding in low lying areas. We remain under a Coastal Flood Advisory until Friday. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s in the afternoon. Rain chances will remain slim.

Spotty showers will linger this evening and overnight tonight. It will be very warm and humid with highs in the mid 70s. On and off showers and storms are expected again on Thursday and Friday. Because the ground is saturated, any additional rain could lead to more flooding.
