|Today is the first official day of hurricane season, and the low in the Gulf of Mexico is now Tropical Depression Two. It is bringing us breezy conditions, a small craft advisory in the offshore waters, a small craft exercise caution in the Sound and a few scattered showers. It will stay in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico today before starting to move south through the day on Friday, eventually toward the western tip of Cuba this weekend. The first day of June is meteorological summer, and high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s again. We expect more hit and miss showers Friday and into the weekend, but it will also be hotter as TD Two pulls away from South Mississippi bringing in some hotter, drier air. 90s will be likely this weekend.
