What a glorious start to the day! It is cooler and much drier than yesterday. We are going to see abundant sunshine with no rain and very few clouds. Highs will only reach the low to mid 80s, and this is where we should be this time of year. We are going to be breezy with northerly winds at 10 to 20 mph. There is also a Fire Weather Warning for all of South Mississippi. Dry conditions, low humidity and high winds are a recipe for fire danger, so no outdoor burning. Tonight will be even cooler with low dropping into the 50s and low 60s. High pressure will help to keep our weather perfectly pleasant and dry for the rest of the week. We have a strong high pressure to our northwest and a strong low pressure, Hurricane Ian, to our southeast. In between those two weather features, the winds act like a tunnel effect, and the pressure gradient is very tight, making it quite windy. The winds should settle somewhat by Friday and Saturday of this week. There is a high chance for development with Invest 99L, but it looks like it will move north. The next name on the list is Julia. Hurricane season officially ends on November 30.

It's feeling like fall! We'll be in the upper 50s and low 60s by the morning. Wednesday will be dry, sunny, and windy. Gusts from the northeast could reach 40 MPH. A Red Flag Warning will be in effect, so all outdoor burning should be avoided. The humidity will stay low over the next several days. Hurricane Ian is set to make landfall in Southwest Florida on Wednesday. It will bring significant surge, rain, and wind to Florida.

Thanks to a cold front, tonight will be cool and crisp! Temperatures will drop into the upper 50s to low 60s by the sunrise. The rest of the week looks warm, dry, and breezy. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s. Strong winds from the north and the low humidity will pose a higher fire weather risk. Hurricane Ian will also strengthen in the Gulf, and it will move toward Florida this week.
