It was a rainy morning for most of us, and there was even flash flooding in Jackson County. The rain this afternoon won't be quite as widespread, but a few showers and storms will be possible. We'll only warm up into the mid 80s. Most of the evening will be dry, but more showers and storms are likely by Thursday morning. Some of the rain will be heavy. We'll have a decent chance for more rain on Friday and Saturday. Here's the latest forecast.
This week, a major hurricane in the east Gulf will target Florida with possibly devastating impacts. With Ian off to our east, this will help to pull down drier & cooler air on the MS Coast for us most of this week.
It's going to heat up quickly today, and we'll be back in the low 90s this afternoon. A few isolated showers are possible in the afternoon and evening, but many of us will stay dry. A cold front will bring cooler and drier air by the middle of the week. We're also closely watching Tropical Storm Ian. It could become a major hurricane in the Gulf this week. While its impacts are expected to stay east of us, we're going to monitor it.
