Get ready for a streak of gruelingly hot weather. Our high temperatures are going to around 100 degrees over the next four days! Inland actual air temperatures are going to range from 100°-104°. Coastal areas will be between 97°-101°. With the high dew point temperatures, the heat index will climb as high as 112°. Take your heat precautions. Drink plenty of water and try to take frequent break inside somewhere with air conditioning. We are going to see more sunshine than showers, but we do have a chance for some isolated to scattered showers across South Mississippi. For those who see rain, it will bring brief relief from the heat. If we see any thunderstorms, they could become strong quickly producing gusty winds and dropping some hail.
By Sunday, the hot high pressure is expected to weaken somewhat and may allow for a gradual change to our weather pattern. We’ll have a better chance for scattered showers by early next week.
