HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Traffic on Interstate 10 in Hancock County is seeing delays after an early-morning crash between two 18-wheelers.
Authorities tell us the wreck happened just after 1 a.m. in the eastbound lane near exit 2, which is the NASA/Waveland exit. One of the big rigs was carrying a truck full of lettuce, which spilled all over the road. Twenty gallons of diesel fuel also spilled across the highway. Hancock County Fire Department were back on the scene of the accident later Friday morning to continue with cleanup efforts.
As of 11:30 a.m., the Mississippi Department of Transportation map showed traffic being backed up all the way to Slidell, LA. An alert from MDOT estimates that it will be backed up for two hours.
