WLOX Editorial: Now lottery money will flow into Mississippi
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - The wheels are in motion for improving Mississippi's failing roads and bridges with the creation of the state lottery just approved by the state legislature. The first $80 million per year going to roads and bridges. Anything over 80 million per year goes to education.
We agree with this move. Mississippi is one of only six states without a lottery. Mississippi residents have long been driving to Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee or even Florida to buy tens of millions of dollars in lottery tickets.
Now that money will flow into Mississippi coffers, and improve transportation and education. That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to email@example.com.
