BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - If you're looking to truly escape reality for a bit, Margaritaville Resort Biloxi now has you covered! The family-friendly entertainment destination has rolled out a new virtual reality game, adding to its already expansive and tech-savvy arcade.

Virtual Zone is a two-player game system that allows players to immerse in a world where their castle is under siege, forcing them to protect it with weapons like a bow-and-arrow. Players can face off against each other, competing to see who can get the highest score. Scoring is based on the number of targets hit.

The VR system is the first of its kind on the Mississippi Gulf be used in an arcade setting.

"There is no other attraction like this in our area," said the resort's chief operations officer Joe Farruggio. "With this technology, players are transported to another world and feel like they've become a part of the game. What makes Virtual Zone a great asset, is not only do the players experience the game, but guests outside the booth can watch the live game play via the monitors on the walls of the game."

There are three featured tournament-compatible games: SiegeVR, ArcheryVR, and ArcadeSagaVR. Both SiegeVR and ArcheryVR games are competition-driven virtual reality experiences.

Virtual Zone is now open to the public. Like the other games in Margaritaville's arcade, it operates using game cards that are pre-loaded with money at the game room's kiosks.
