UPDATE: Former employee turns himself in after workplace shooting

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The former employee of a Gulfport business has turned himself into authorities after being charged with firing shots in a workplace shooting Friday morning.

Johnnie Lee Fulton, 55, is accused of firing a gun inside Warren Paving, which is located on Reichold Road. No one was injured.

Police Chief Leonard Papania says Fulton is a former employee who was recently fired from the construction company. It happened at 5:50 a.m. Friday. After firing shots inside the business, the 55-year-old fled in a purple 2011 Dodge Avenger.
