Treasure Bay Casino takes first steps to begin expansion

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Treasure Bay Casino will take its first step toward expansion Wednesday morning when the casino officials present plans for a new parking lot to the Biloxi Development Review Committee. New surface parking will be located to the west of the casino on land Treasure Bay recently purchased.

"We are anxious for this. We've needed more parking for a long time," said Susan Varnes, Treasuer Bay President.

Once the new surface parking is complete, Treasure Bay plans to add 10,000 square feet in gaming space and build a parking garage. The gaming expansion will extend from the second-floor casino and connect to the new garage.

"We're still designing the rest of it, but it's exciting," Varnes said.

Varnes expects construction on the new parking lot to begin this fall, with the casino expansion and garage taking shape in 2019.
