Man indicted for manslaughter in boating death of teen

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The man indicted in connection to a deadly boating accident in Hancock County is set to be arraigned next month. Eugene Butler, Jr. is charged with manslaughter in the death of 19-year-old Vanessa Mauffray.
The teenager died when another boat hit her vessel last year in Bayou Caddy. Butler was initially charged with boating under the influence, but his indictment only charges him with manslaughter.
Butler is scheduled to be back in court Aug. 21.
