PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - A man with a lot of experience in local government has been tapped as Pascagoula's Interim City Manager. The city council appointed Mike Mangum to the position Wednesday night.
Mangum is a longtime resident of Pascagoula who previously served as Jackson County Supervisor District 3, Pascagoula Ward 4 Councilman, and Pascagoula Planning Board Member.
"I am honored to be a part of the administration for the city," said Mangum. "I'm eager to work with the staff and citizens of Pascagoula and ready to use my experience and expertise to move our community forward."
Also at Wednesday night's meeting, the council appointed Ryan Fredric as City Attorney. The Pascagoula native holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing from Mississippi State University and a Juris Doctor from the Mississippi College School of Law. He previously served as Special Counsel for the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and an attorney at Bryan, Nelson, Schroeder, Castigliola and Banahan, PLLC in Pascagoula, and Page Mannino, Peresich & McDermott, PLLC in Biloxi.
"I would like to thank the Mayor and Council for this great opportunity to allow me to serve the citizens of my hometown," said Fredric. "Thank you to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and my fellow co-workers for the opportunity, knowledge, and friendship provided over the years. I am excited to serve my hometown and assist in helping Pascagoula continue to prosper and achieve its fullest potential."
Mangum and Fredric began their duties Wednesday night at the council meeting.
