PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - The Pascagoula-Gautier school district has some big projects in the works, and one of them includes building a performing arts center.
According to Superintendent Wayne Rodolfich, the district has borrowed $3 million to complete a variety of projects.
"We haven't had a performing arts center in Pascagoula in 21 years. The old auditorium at Pascagoula High School, we thought about renovating it. There's just no parking anywhere there," said Rodofilch. "We're looking at putting in about an 800 seat facility that would be state of the art for the children here. It would be located right here on the Pascagoula campus."
The new center will be located behind Pascagoula High School, where the soccer practice field is currently located.
Rodolfich says they're still waiting on a variance before they can begin the planning phase of the project.
