VANCLEAVE, MS (WLOX) - Students in Jackson County will soon have access to a new learning resource in Vancleave.
The Jackson County School District is partnering with Chevron and the Fab Foundation to build a $1.2 million fabrication laboratory. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
Plans and renderings for the project were unveiled Monday morning during a check presentation ceremony at Vancleave High School.
The Fab Lab will include a variety of high-tech tools for education, including a laser cutter that makes 2D and 3D structures.
Jackson County School District Superintendent Dr. Barry Amacker said the Fab Lab and a mobile unit will be available to students and to the community.
