PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) - The body of Anthony Palode, 60, was found just before 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mississippi Sound, according to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove.
Palode fell into the water early Tuesday morning after losing his balance while fishing on a breakwater near the Pass Christian Harbor.
Authorities say witnesses tried to rescue Palode by throwing him a line, but were unable to reach him. Rescue crews searched for more than 12 hours Tuesday, but were unable to locate the body.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, Coast Guard, Harrison County Sheriff's Department, Pass Christian Fire Department, and Pass Christian Police Department assisted in the search.
