PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - Pascagoula Mayor Jim Blevins declared a local emergency Thursday morning in preparation for the heavy rain and thunderstorms headed toward South Mississippi over the next two days.
Residents are being urged to prepare their homes for wind and rain. This includes tying down or bringing in any objects which may cause damage or injury if picked up by the wind.

The City also urges those who are out on the roads to please exercise caution as weather conditions worsen. Do not attempt to drive through standing water. Remember, turn around, don't drown.
