D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - Investigators in D'Iberville now believe a burglary suspect wanted to die at the hands of police.
Police Chief Wayne Payne told WLOX News the preliminary investigation revealed Tuesday morning's officer involved shooting was actually an attempted suicide. He said a note was found inside the home indicating the 18-year-old wanted to end his life.
Police were called to a home on Quail Creek Circle and an officer opened fire on the suspect. The man wasn't shot. After dropping his weapon, he was arrested.
