"Ashes to Go" offered in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - Today is the beginning of Lent. It's a time for most Christians to reflect and repent during the days leading up to Easter.
Two churches in Long Beach are offering an alternative idea for those who can't make it to an Ash Wednesday service today. It's called "Ashes to Go."
Clergy from First United Methodist and Grace Lutheran churches will be set up in the parking lot near the John Simpson pier from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Anyone is invited to stop by for a few minutes and receive ashes.
This is the third year these churches have offered "Ashes to Go."
