School is out for the summer. That means vacations and staycations. The summer vacation season means the beaches are busy. The water parks are packed. Kids are sleeping late and education is the last thing on the minds of students. After all, it is the summer break.
But one School Superintendent, Wayne Rodolfich, of the Pascagoula-Gautier district has a different idea for parents with young children. He has taken to the streets wearing a sandwich sign on a campaign to get parents to read to their children.
We applaud the superintendent for his efforts to fight illiteracy and hope parents will read to their children all summer long. That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours.
