GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A Gulfport brawl that was caught on video landed four people in jail, and more arrests could be made soon.

The video is unsettling. It shows adults punching, slapping, and kicking one another, in a public sports complex. According to the Gulfport Police Department, this fight wasn't impromptu. It was planned. That's why those who use the park are expressing concern.

"I saw it online. A couple of parents they called us, and they were worried about our kids coming out here tonight," said Joe Harrison.

"So we were just making sure we took some precautions, and that everything was okay."

Harrison helps coach a travel baseball team. He said Goldin Sports Complex is a central location for his players to meet for practice, and he would hate to have to find a new place to play.

"I wish people would just realize these are kids from four years old all the way to 13 years old out here, and anything can happen. A stray bullet or anything like that. It's scary," said Harrison.

Those who live near the complex, and go there to play basketball or exercise, say knowing that people would use the park for that type of activity is unsettling.

"My thing is I run a lot out here about 9 or 9:30 at night, and that's just unsafe for the residents over here. There's not a lot of police presence. You hardly ever see a police officer driving down the streets of Prudie Circle, and it's just unsafe. There's children out there, like, there's children playing basketball, practicing baseball, and it's just unsafe for the community," said Douglas Reid.

Gulfport Police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said although they have learned that the Goldin Sports Complex has been a common venue for fights, they don't want the public to get the wrong perception.

"The park in itself is not the problem. It's what people are doing at the park, such as these groups that are using the park actually as their venue to come set up these fights," said McDaniel.

Four people have been arrested on charges of disturbing the peace, and reckless driving. Sgt. McDaniel said more arrests could be made as people in the video are identified.
