Meadows appointed following Savant's resignation
HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Harrison County supervisors voted Monday morning to appoint former board attorney Joe Meadows to fill the unexpired term of Kim Savant.
Savant stepped down from his position at the end of last month, just minutes before pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery. Those charges relate to allegations that Savant was accepting bribes in exchange for his vote to award contracts from the Harrison County Utility Authority.
Monday morning, Joe Meadows was immediately sworn in by Judge Robin Midcalf and took his place on the board.
