Bay St. Louis man killed in house fire

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - A house fire claimed the life of a Bay St. Louis man on Sunday. Bay St. Louis Fire Chief Pam San Fillippo confirms the fatal fire happened on the 400 block of St. John Street.
Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk tells WLOX News Joseph Labat, III, 87, was killed in the blaze.
San Fillippo said Labat was home alone when the fire broke out. She said the fire was contained to a single room, which suffered heavy smoke damage.
The state fire marshal is on the scene now working to determine the cause of the fire.
