Police: Driver escapes I-10 vehicle fire unharmed

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Fire crews rushed to the scene of a vehicle fire on Interstate 10 in Gulfport on Friday evening. That is according to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove, who happened to be passing by when the fire occurred in the westbound lanes.
Gulfport police tell us a mechanical failure in the vehicle sparked the blaze. We're told the driver managed to escape the inferno unscathed, and there were no injuries.
