Multi-vehicle accident causes traffic on I-10 west in Gulfport

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Traffic is bumper to bumper on the westbound lanes of I-10 in Gulfport between the Lorraine-Cowan Road exit and Highway 49 exit Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), a multiple vehicle accident caused the traffic. MDOT anticipates the traffic to last around one hour.
Gulfport Police Lt. Phillip Kincaid said there were three separate accidents caused by hydroplaning. Kincaid said one vehicle hydroplaned and hit a culvert landing upside down.
He said one person was injured and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
