Officials with Mississippi Highway Patrol say around 10:30 Friday night 30-year-old Demarcus K. Williams was walking in the I-10 East bound lane of traffic when he was struck and killed by a vehicle.
According to authorities, the accident happened near Exit 2 on I-10. The vehicle was a 2007 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Freddy B. Hernandez, 43, from Hialeah, FL.
Officials say Williams was driving a white Ford Explorer, but pulled to the side of the interstate and got out of his vehicle. Then, he was struck.
The accident is under investigation.
