BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Mike Gillich Junior led a rather public life. But, his family has chosen to keep his death as private as possible.

Sources have confirmed the 82-year-old died this weekend from cancer.  Friends remember the days Gillich ran a string of Biloxi strip clubs. Old timers also talk about his ties to the Dixie Mafia.    Gillich became notorious because of that link to organized crime.

He was one of the co-conspirators convicted of plotting the 1987 executions of Judge Vincent Sherry and his wife, Margaret.

The Gillich family is not releasing any information about his death, or his funeral.
