Spill reported at Chevron's Pascagoula refinery

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - A news release from the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery says there was an overnight spill at Chevron's wharf.  The leaking line was reported at 3:49 a.m.

From what WLOX News has been told, specialized refinery teams responded to the incident.  There is no danger to the community. There were no injuries. Federal, state, and local authorities have been notified.

The incident occurred when a line leaked, causing approximately 45 barrels of heavy oil to be released into the water.  Skimmer boats and oil absorbent boom have been deployed.
