Gulfport father charged with Felony Child Abuse

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A Gulfport man accused of beating his 9-year-old son is facing a charge of Felony Child Abuse.
Keith Cooper, Sr, 30, was arrested Wednesday after a teacher reported the abuse. Investigators believe Cooper hit the child with a belt about 20 times, causing bruising and welts.
Bond for Cooper was set at $50,000, pending a hearing.
