"Occupy" protest reaches Mississippi coast
BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The "Occupy Wall Street" protests made their way to south Mississippi this weekend. On Saturday, protesters showed their own discontent with corporate greed plus social and economic inequality.
As part of Occupy Biloxi, they stood on Highway 90 near Edgewater Mall and held up signs.
The only protestor who would agree to talk to us on camera did not want to show his face or give him real name. He said the Occupy movement is gaining momentum. "We're coming with questions, not answers," the unidentified protester said. "We want to know what's wrong, how is wrong, how did we get here? Once we understand that then we can go out and say well what can we do to solve this. We can't make legislation but there's enough of us that if we speak out with one voice that we cannot be ignored."
There was also an Occupy Jackson event on Saturday in the capital city.
