BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi police say they have broken up an alleged illegal escort service that officers say also operated as a drug ring.
Three women are in jail after an investigation by the Special Crimes Division.
On Friday, officers arrested Karen Lea Donovan, Shatarra Monique Rodriguez and Jaclyn Rechele Mallette Ewing after getting search warrants for two locations.
Donavan is charged with Possession of Hydrocodone With Intent to Distribute. She's also accused of violating Biloxi city ordinances that regulate the management and operation of sexually oriented escort services. Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain gave Donavan a $50,000 bond on the drug charges while Municipal Judge Eugene Henry ordered a $4,000 cash bond for the city violations.
Officers charged Rodriquez with Possession of Bath Salts and Amphetamine With the Intent To Distribute and with not complying with Biloxi ordinances on sexually oriented escort services. Rodriquez received a $50,000 bond from Justice Court and a $4,000 cash bond from City Court.
A third woman, Jaclyn Ewing, is also in custody. Justice Court ordered bond set at $25,000 bond after she was charged with Possessing A Controlled Substance With Intent to Distribute. Ewing also received a $2,000 bond for violations of city ordinance.
