When you dine at the Chinese restaurant Bamboo in D'Iberville, you'll quickly learn there's no buffet and it's not really fancy. It's just good food in a comfortable, family oriented atmosphere.
Kelven Shih and his wife run their restaurant. She helped come up with the name Bamboo. The Bamboo in China, is very strong tree and also stands for luck.
The restaurant seems to always be filled with laughter by customers and the owners. Kelven is abundantly clear on the favorite part of his job.

Kelven will cook any dish, any way you want it. The menu is very large and affordable.
There are appetizers like the chicken teriyaki, pot stickers, fried crab meat, spring roll, calamari and much more. There are also soups and many dishes featuring duck, seafood, beef, pork, poultry and vegetable. Their number one seller is the Emperess Chicken.
As one customer put it, Bamboo is the best kept secret around - until now. Another customer said that everyone he knows who's gone to eat there is now a repeat customer.
Bamboo is located in D'Iberville on Lamey Bridge Road across from the old Jitney Jungle right next to Babers Leasing. It is open Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm and 4:30pm to 9:30pm and Saturday from 11:30am to 3pm and 4:30pm to 9:30pm.
