Aerospace Alliance could help Gulf Coast soar

By WLOX Staff

BAY MINETTE, AL (WLOX) - A new Aerospace Alliance unveiled Monday afternoon could help Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida create jobs for their residents.

The four states will work together on ways to market the gulf coast to aerospace developers.  For instance, the joint partnership will push hard to bring the KC-45 tanker construction to Mobile.

During a news conference announcing the alliance, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour said if Northrop Grumman and EADS land the deal, 48,000 direct and indirect jobs will be created in all four states.  And the Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida region could become the fourth largest aerospace corridor in the world.
