Akim Powell is a Digital Content Producer for WLOX News. He's a coast native, having grown up in Long Beach. In May 2020, Akim graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with an emphasis in print. During his time at Ole Miss, Akim was an intern for Hotty Toddy News, Lens Collective, and Editor-In-Chief of the Ole Miss Odyssey.

When he’s not writing breaking news stories, Akim likes to hang out with his dog Brody and create content for his podcast.
