Pass Christian’s Hall, Pascagoula’s Nettles earn 2026 Mr. Basketball honors
PASS CHRISTIAN/PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) — On Wednesday, two Coast athletes were recognized by the Mississippi Association of Coaches and the Mississippi High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) for their excellence on the court during the 2025-26 basketball season.

Pascagoula’s Blake Nettles and Pass Christian’s Landon Hall were both crowned the 2026 Mr. Basketball in their respective regions. This is the first time both student-athletes have earned the award.
Hall and the Pirates are still alive in the 4A MHSAA basketball playoffs after downing McComb 66-55. The win moves them to 20-9 overall and grants them a date with Mendenhall at home in the second round. The winner of this contest advances to face either Lawrence County or Morton.

With a win against the Rebels, the Panthers would advance to the second round and face either Jim Hill or Picayune at Pearl River Community College.
Nettles and Hall, along with all other Mr. and Miss Basketball winners, will be recognized during the 2026 Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Big House Classic MHSAA State Championships at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson on March 2-7. Recipients will also be honored at a special awards luncheon, which will be streamed live on the NFHS Network in the MHSAA Conference Center on March 10.
