Laura Loomer says Bad Bunny’s halftime show wasn’t ‘white enough,’ adds ‘immigrants have literally ruined everything’
(Gray News/AP) — Laura Loomer, a far-right political activist and close ally of President Donald Trump, is being criticized for her statements about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance.
In a post on X, Loomer said that the Puerto Rican superstar’s halftime show wasn’t “white enough” for her.
“Illegal aliens and Latin hookers twerking at the Super Bowl. Not a single white person or English translation at the Super Bowl. This isn’t White enough for me,” Loomer wrote on X.

Commenters were quick to point out that there is no proof that anyone on stage is an undocumented immigrant or a sex worker in any way.
People also refuted Loomer’s claim that there was “not a single white person” during the performance, noting that Lady Gaga, who is white, had a lengthy guest performance. Gaga also sang in English.
Loomer finished her post by adding, “Can’t even watch a Super Bowl anymore because immigrants have literally ruined everything.”
For around 13 minutes during the halftime show, all eyes on the field — and around the world — were on Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.
“Mi nombre es Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio,” he introduced himself to the crowd in Spanish. “Y si hoy estoy aquí en el Super Bowl 60, es porque nunca, nunca dejé de creer en mí y tú también deberías de creer en ti, vales más de lo que piensas.”
In English: “My name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and if I’m here today at Super Bowl 60 it’s because I never, ever stopped believing in myself and you should also believe in yourself, you’re worth more than you think.”
Bad Bunny performed entirely in Spanish, as all his music is recorded in the language.
He did speak in English at the end of the set, however, when he said, “God Bless America,” and then named countries in the Americas.
“And my motherland, mi patria, Puerto Rico, seguimos aquí.” In English: “My homeland, Puerto Rico, we are still here.”
Behind him, a screen read “The only thing more powerful than hate is love” in English text.
