Beau Rivage Casino Resort celebrates 25th years by providing meals for those in need
BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Tuesday, more than 200 Beau Rivage staff members came together with one goal: battling food insecurity.
Employees packed boxes with food like rice, lentils, and vegetables. In the end, they made more than 50,000 healthy meals.
“One of our focuses here at Beau Rivage and MGM is food insecurity,” said Engagement and Communications Partner Elisabeth Naff. “So any nonprofit that focuses on food insecurity is really important to us. So it’s our honor to give back to these three nonprofits in our area.”
The meals will go to Back Bay Mission, Feed My Sheep and The Lord is My Help, to share with those in need.
For Housekeeping Assistant Executive Kenneth Paxton, this mission is personal.
“It makes me feel good because you know growing up, I didn’t always have everything that I wanted,” Paxton said. “So to be able to give back is such a great feeling. And I love the fact that we all give back here.”
This project is part of Beau Rivage’s 25-year anniversary celebration and a new partnership with Kids Around the World.
Naff added, this packing party offered employees a chance to give back while at work.
“We do have a Social Impact and Sustainability Council that helped plan this today. So it’s really cool to see it in action. And for our first shift, we had 60 attendees. So it’s a very big deal of for us to have this event here,” Naff said.
Naff says based on today’s response, the company looks forward to more partnerships to fight hunger in the future.
Saturday, March 16th, the Beau Rivage will host a choreographed drone show to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
Attendees can see the show from the beach and the casino’s parking garage. It’s free and open to the public.
