Two Lucedale men arrested, charged after shooting death in Jackson County
LUCEDALE, Miss. (WLOX) - Two Lucedale men were charged in the shooting death of another man on the night of Saturday, March 9.
Sheriff John Ledbetter says around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting call at the County Line Bar on Highway 613. They found Richard Allen Davis shot in the chest. He was treated but died on the scene.
Officials say one of the suspects, 21-year-old Charles Ike Mason IV, allegedly shot a rifle several times toward people in the bar and Davis was hit. Mason allegedly left the bar in a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Jesse Donavan Holifield.
Both men surrendered without incident. Mason is charged with first-degree murder and Holifield is charged with accessory after the fact.
The shooting is still under investigation. Mason and Holifield are jailed in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bond, pending an initial court hearing.
