BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - If you’re a foodie living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, you may have heard a rumor you’re desperately hoping is true... Is ‘The Great Food Truck Race,’ a popular Food Network show, making a stop in Biloxi this weekend?

The answer is yes! The City of Biloxi has confirmed that the high-stakes challenge show has coordinated with Harrah’s to take place on Saturday at the Great Lawn. The public is invited to participate beginning at 11:30 a.m.

As for Sunday’s location, it’s in the works. Food trucks will either be set up at the Great Lawn or at the Harrison County West Biloxi Beach Launch south of Treasure Bay. We’ll update the Sunday location when we recieve it.

At least one of the food trucks participating in the 17th season of the show is already in Biloxi as of Thursday evening.

Argentina’s Empanadas, who has been documenting their journey filming the season so far, posted about their arrival Thursday. They followed up with another post Friday morning.

So far this season, the show has stopped in Houston, Texas, Galveston, Texas, and most recently Lake Charles, Louisiana. The show, hosted by Chef Tyler Florence, follows several food truck teams as they battle for $50,000 (and maybe a new food truck)... cooking delicious food and adapting to challenges along the way.

Another food truck who has been documenting their journey on the show this season, SoLA Po Boys, confirmed with WLOX they will be traveling to Biloxi. They even posted about a unique menu they created just for the city.

Wally’s Waffles, another food truck participating in the show, posted in the Facebook group MS Gulf Coast Foodies Friday morning that they would be in Biloxi this week.
