Thursday’s Forecast
Today has been cloudier than expected. Hopefully we’ll see more sunshine later in the day. There will only be a slight chance for rain showers today. Temperatures have reached the 70s so far today for the first time in more than two weeks. Widespread downpours still on the way for tomorrow. So, plan on stormy weather around lunch time Friday and rainy weather for Friday aftenoon and evening. The showers should eventually taper off overnight Friday night into Saturday. There will be a medium risk for flooding rain in South Mississippi. There will also be a very low risk for damaging straight-line wind gusts and tornadoes. The weather looks cool for New Year’s Eve Saturday night with hardly any rain to get in the way of fireworks and festivities. Plan on dry weather for New Year’s Day Sunday. Then some higher rain chances next Monday and Tuesday.
