Pass Christian man identified as victim found dead near Moses Pier

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - Authorities have identified a 23-year-old Pass Christian man as the victim who was found floating in the water Sunday morning near a Gulfport pier.

Christopher Boles was found deceased in the water by Moses Pier Sunday morning around 7 a.m. by fishermen in the area. He was identified late Tuesday night by Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.

An autopsy was performed and Boles was found to have died by drowning, said Switzer. It’s still unclear where he went into the water but the Coast Guard is investigating.

The Coast Guard, along with Gulfport Police and Department of Marine Resources, assisted in retrieving the body from the water.
