BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Investigators are still working to determine what sparked the fire in an area above the Koi Sushi Restaurant in Biloxi. A father is now grieving after his daughter passed away due to that blaze.
“I think they got the call around 1 or 1:30 in the morning Wednesday,” said Roy Causey.
He also told us later that morning he was contacted about one of the victims in the fire.
That victim was his 43-year-old daughter, Iesha. He said thanks to that anonymous person, he was able to be with Iesha at the hospital during her last hours before she died from the injuries she suffered in the blaze.
“I don’t know who you are, but I thank you, because I was able to go identify her and see her at the hospital. You know, it meant a lot because I don’t know who this person was but whoever you are, thank you so much,” Causey said. “Anybody who knew her, she was always funny, full of laughs, joking around and everything. She’s got three kids, two boys and a girl. It’s hard on them, but we’re gonna make it.”
But, Causey said making it won’t be easy, after this end of the year tragedy.
“Now this is hard for me to end 2020 with losing my daughter, my only daughter, but as they say God’s in control and he has my back on this.” said Causey.
