NEW ORLEANS, Lou. (WLOX) - Perhaps the most impressive part of last week’s blowout win over Tampa Bay, with much to choose from, was the Saints completing 35 passes as a team to 12 different guys. The black and gold totaled over 280 receiving yards without a single receiver finishing with over 51 yards.
While it might not be reasonable to expect that kind of performance each week, Drew Brees thinks his team is starting to gel.
“It’s been an unusual season, especially I think, offensively, over the last four or five weeks with the amount of personnel turnover, guys being injured so I feel like, in a way, we’re just hitting our stride a little bit," Brees said. "Getting Michael Thomas back, I think he’s going to continue to get back into form with the more reps and kind of coming back off the injury. Emmanuel Sanders as well, and then obviously just the more time we have together so that combined with the guys that we have, the young guys we have that can contribute as well. I’m excited to see our evolution.”
