Inmate found dead in Marshall County Correctional Facility
An inmate in the Marshall County Correctional Facility was pronounced dead by Marshall County coroner James Richard Anderson.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - An inmate in the Marshall County Correctional Facility was pronounced dead by Marshall County Coroner James Richard Anderson Saturday night.

The inmate was identified as Jermaine Tyler by an official from Management & Training Corporation, which operates the Marshall Couty prison for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Tyler was found unresponsive in his housing unit around 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Officials said there were no initial signs of foul play.

Tyler has been sent to the state examiner in Pearl, Mississippi for an autopsy.

In the month of January, a total of 12 inmates have been found dead within the Mississippi state prison system, including Tyler. Nine of those deaths occurring in Parchman, one the South Mississippi Correctional Institute and one in Chickasaw County.
