LIST: Cold weather shelters opening across the Coast
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - As temperatures continue to drop along the Gulf Coast, different counties and cities are opening up shelters to provide people with a place to go to get out of the freezing temperatures.
The following places are opening cold weather shelters.
- Seashore Mission and Loaves and Fishes is opening a cold weather shelter whenever temperatures are 40 degrees or below.
- The Salvation Army is opening a cold weather shelter Tuesday, November 12. A meal will be served followed by a light breakfast the following morning. A breathalyzer will be administered before entry is allowed.
- Hancock County EMA is opening a cold weather shelter at the Old Spanish Trail Baptist Church Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12 and November 13
- The Salvation Army is opening a cold weather shelter Tuesday, November 12. Space is limited. Hot dogs will be served. A breathalyzer will be administered before entry is allowed.
