OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - The first ever Mississippi Songwriters Hall of Fame was held Thursday night in Ocean Springs and a Vancleave native is the first to be inducted.
Paul Overstreet sang his heart out to a packed crowd at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center after being inducted. Among his popular songs that he sang included the country hit “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”
The event also the kickoff to the 10th annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival, which is happening Sept. 19-22 at locations in Ocean Springs, Gautier, Moss Point and Biloxi.
