SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - A Tornado Watch is in effect for all of the WLOX area of coastal Mississippi until 6 PM.
Straight-line winds and a few tornadoes will possibly affect some locations in the watch area. Pay close attention. Warnings may be issued.
Watch out for mainly damaging straight-line winds. A few tornadoes will be possible somewhere in the watch area as well.
Our weather will likely become stormy this afternoon, especially around or after 4 PM. Thunderstorms will likely begin to quiet down around or before 10 PM.
A few of these thunderstorms may trigger warnings in coastal Mississippi today and tonight. The main threat with any possible severe, damaging, thunderstorms will be straight-line wind gusts exceeding 60 miles per hour. Can’t rule out a low tornado threat and a very low hail threat either.
We will also be watching for heavy downpours with projected rainfall totals in coastal Mississippi up to about two inches through Thursday’s end.

More rounds of thunderstorms will be possible on Friday, Saturday, and Mother’s Day Sunday. However, a more tranquil weather pattern is expected for early next week.
