Suspect’s brother now charged in shooting death of Biloxi police officer

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The brother of the man accused of killing a Biloxi police officer is now in jail on charges related to the death.

Davian Atkinson, 21, is charged with accessory after the fact in the investigation into Officer Robert McKeithen’s death. He was booked into Harrison County Jail late Monday night following the arrest of 19-year-old Darian Atkinson.
Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania confirmed that Davian is the brother of Darian.
Darian Atkinson is charged with capital murder in the death of Officer McKeithen. Police say Darian Atkinson shot the Biloxi officer outside police headquarters on Sunday night.

Authorities from multiple agencies gathered Monday night as Darian Atkinson arrived at Biloxi Police Department. Getting out of the patrol car with a smile on his face, the 19-year-old murder suspect stuck his tongue out and laughed as he was walked into the station.
