BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - This weekend, we will hear thunderous roars over the Mississippi Sound; not the kind of thunder that comes with lightning, rather the thunder of the F-16 fighter jet engines of the U.S. Air Force air demonstration team, the Thunderbirds. We are glad this show is coming to Biloxi and Keesler Air Force Base.
We will have the chance to see some of the world’s best precision fighter pilots flying that diamond formation just a few feet apart at 500 miles per hour. They are truly Ambassadors in Blue generating a sense of pride in our nation. This team is not just for show. If needed they can rapidly be integrated into an operational fighter wing.
There will be lots of other air demonstrations as well. The shows are free to the public. But the Thunderbirds are the headliner. Come out if you can. If you can’t, WLOX will broadcast live the Saturday show at 3 p.m.
Yes the jets will be loud, but we like to think the thunderous sound represents the sound of freedom. That’s our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to email@example.com.
